2.2Oversized hotel for mass tourismDamian - 30-Aug-2017
Stayed for three days (full board), here are my observations:
1 - Check-in: Non existent information provided by reception staff, we had to ask around as to what facilities we could use and at what times etc... there wasn't even any information in the room about the services either.
2 - Room: Fridge broken, A/C broken - need I say more.
3 - Food: Choice of food was not bad however all areas of the hotel are massively overcrowded which leads to frequent waits of up to 10-15minutes for some food that is being prepared.
4 - Entertainment: Given that we had no idea what was on (i.e. total lack of information from reception on check-in) we just saw the music that is put on every evening around the pool area, which incidentally the same group every day and was generally poor.
General summary: It is very clear from start to end that the hotel has a policy to get you in and out asap with minimum effort ,from their part to improve the customer experience, and maximum benefit (i.e. the fact that they have practically merged two giant hotels into one small area). If you visit the games room (next to the pool) it generally sums up what the hotel is all about: facilities almost as old as I am (i.e. 40yrs) that have never been changed/updated from day one.
I will definitely never stay there again, which is unfortunate as I had high hopes that my young children would at least be able enjoy the kids entertainment and the facilities.
One other VERY IMPORTANY FACT, security is almost non-existent (quite worrying given recent events in Barcelona) we often met people around the pool area that weren't even residents at the hotel but we able to freely access the facilities etc..
-My opinion about this hotel Gran BaliLeonardo - 13-Oct-2015
The hotel should not be credited with 4 stars. Service is non existent, especially in the restaurants and bars. The hotel has two restaurants both of which seat approx. 850 guests. I counted only 4 waiters in one restaurant - they have to take orders for drinks, clean and relay tables. One had to wait at least 40 minutes for a wine order. The cooked food was completely cold. Tables were left with used crockery. A complaint was made to a person parading in the restaurant who appeared to be a member of management - his response was simply that the hotel catered for a vast number of clients. The solution to the problems is simple - the larger the hotel the more staff require to be employed. The same lack of service was applied in the bars - again no waiter service at all. I booked demi-pension for 5 nights and only ate in the restaurant twice. On the second occasion adults were eating from the children\'s buffet. The bedrooms were O.K. and clean and the facilities i.e. the pool area were fine but apart from that service was non existent especially in the restaurants. The hotel also lacked an à la carte restaurant. A complaint was made to reception and the response was "Please put your complaint in writing for us to add to the huge pile of complaints that we already have:" 1 star would be sufficient for this hotel.

The hotel was good in every way, except the food. There was plenty of selection but the preperation of the dinners mostly were disgusting. It wasn\'t that it wasn\'t to a British palate. There were many Spanish guests very discontented with the quality as well.
