We stayed in the Gloria palace Royal from 3/6/11 until 10/6/11 on half pension board, with our 4 year old son. The Hotel is very well kept, very clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the location is great. There is a bit of a walk to the beach (going to the beach is downhill, coming from the beach is uphill), but is is not so hard. Our 4 year old barely complained. The weather was great, always warm, never had to put on a jacket. No need for air con in the room. The room was very big and had a beautiful balcony overlooking the sea. The entertainment in the evening was always fun and very amusing, and it changed every night. The swimming pools are really beautiful, and there was always a place in the shade. The food at the restaurants was delicious for breakfast (I think it could not be better), and good for dinner (but not excellent).
The only 2 downsides were: 1) drinks were not included, and the waiters will not even give you a glass of water (not even to a 7 month pregnant woman like myself). You always have to pay for drinks, and they are not cheap. 2) The second negative thing is the children entertainment, which is close to nothing. The "entertainers" are Dutch teenagers that did nothing to engage the children in any activities, and basically just sat at the kids tables coloring books themselves or chating with colleagues. That was really unprofessional.
